From Nurse Jessica

We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day. What you eat for breakfast is even more important! Breakfast cereals and pastries high in sugar can leave us feeling weak and depleted. Starting the day with a sugary meal can make it difficult to concentrate and difficult to commit things to memory. They can also cause physical ailments such as stomach aches, headaches, and even dizziness. Instead, aim for a breakfast high in whole grains, fiber, and protein. These nutrients help you to feel fuller longer and provide the nutrition needed to start the day.

Kids who eat a well balanced breakfast attend 1.5 more days of school a year on average and score 17.5% higher on standardized math tests. Starting the morning with breakfast makes for a better day and a better school year!
