Regular school attendance is a necessary part of the learning process. If your child has a medical condition that prohibits him/her from being at school regularly, please contact me so we can come up with solutions to improve attendance. Many medications and medical procedures can be performed at school. Asthma, for example, accounts for 25% of all school absences. There are certainly times when a child needs to stay home for asthma. However, if they are home simply to receive more frequent nebulizer treatments, those can be accomplished at school.
Please remember that medication can never be sent to school with your child. A parent or guardian must bring in to school, sign it in, and complete the necessary paperwork in order for it to be administered. Prescription medication must come in the original pharmacy labeled container and over the counter medication must come in a new, unopened bottle or box.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns throughout the year.
