Fall Festival was a wonderful night of fun and a huge success! We appreciate so much your support through your donations and presence. We especially want to thank Beth Petroka, our PTO President, and all our PTO volunteers for coordinating this annual fundraiser. Proceeds will go directly to your children’s classrooms to be used to enhance student learning.
While we have not received individual student reports to share with you from 20016-17 TCAP/TNReadytesting, we have received word that Rutherford County School System was tied for 1st place in Tennessee receiving a 5 in all subjects, for learning gains, TVAAS. Barfield also earned a school composite of 5. Congratulations to our Rutherford County Schools and our BARFIELD TEAM, including YOU, our parents!
Be sure to keep a close watch on our school calendar for October because this month is absolutely packed with important activities for you and our students. This is the month for 1st 9-wks. Report Cards, Character Counts, Parent-Teacher Conferences, Boosterthon Fun Run Fundraiser, Early Dismissal, and our annual Book Character Parade. (See dates and times on the calendar on page 3.) We hope that you and your family will participate in any way you can.
Did you know that there are many resources beyond this newsletter to keep you in-the-know at your fingertips: your child’s Student AGENDA which contains the Barfield Elementary School Student Handbook and our school website where you can find your child’s teacher’s webpage with learning links galore. You will also be able to access the Rutherford County Schools iNOW Parent Portal after you have received your child’s username and temporary password. Grades will be posted in the portal for grades 3-5 only. School Messenger messages are sent out with important reminders. Please make sure that your voicemail is set up to receive incoming messages.
Happy Fall, Y’all!
