Nurse Jessica: Germs and Cell Phones

We all know that hand washing is one of the most important things we can do to keep from getting sick. Have you ever considered your cell phone or tablet may be making you sick? Cell phones can carry as many germs as a toilet seat. These germs are commonly responsible for communicable illnesses such as the flu, pink, eye, and diarrhea.

Disinfect your phone often, especially after visiting public places such as the gym, restaurant, store, and office. Try to avoid touching your face; your mouth, nose, and eyes provide an easy entry point for germs. Finally, wash your hands after using your cell or tablet.

Cold and flu season is upon us. Little steps like these can go a long way in keeping you healthy.
